We’re now officially 2 months old – Huzzah! -[:)]
Our site content is growing at a steady pace; we now have two pages filled with content, and we’re constantly working on improving our workflow to help bring more content to you. Our goal is to make this site a one-stop resource for all things indie. We appreciate your patience.
Our YouTube channel is now fully up and running. Be sure to SUBSCRIBE and hit that BELL button too… that way you’ll get an instant notification when we add new content. If you enjoyed a video, please hit the LIKE button. Most importantly, feel free to leave comments and suggestions. Your feedback is important!
Now on to what happened in the past month.
In this quick-tip video tutorial, Chris shows you how to create your own custom brushes for Affinity Designer. As an added bonus, he uses his iPad with Procreate to create some natural sketch-like brushes.
In this video tutorial, you’ll learn the basics of all modern 3D authoring tools in a fun and unique way: using LEGO Digital Designer. You’ll also find that everything is indeed AWESOME! -[:)]
In this short video, we’ll head way back to the 1980’s and take a look at an epic platformer. Do you remember the Great Gianna Sisters?
In this short video, we revisit the 1990’s as we rediscover an old classic game of survival and escape. Do you remember Lemmings?
Introduction to 3D
Expect to see another inset into this series, where Chris will continue your learning journey into the world of 3D.
Do You Remember
Expect more episodes in this fun series where we take you back to some of those games we all enjoyed playing as kids. We love remixing the epic tunes; and who knows… we might even release a full version album soon?
Now that RWDevCon is over, expect more content from Tammy. She’s been such a slacker this past month while working on other projects and such. We’re not even sure how Chris puts up with her shenanigans. -[:)]
OK, this is the hard part for us: asking for help.
In order for us to make Day Of The Indie a success, we’re asking for your support. With your backing, we’ll be able to provide valuable content, more frequently.
Our goal is to keep our tutorials FREE for as long as possible. So, we’re going to try something out…
Most of our tutorials will include downloadable resources. Those resources take a lot of time to create. What we’re going to do, is offer the tutorials for free and give you the opportunity to show your support when you download the resource files. Some of these resources will carry a small fee, mainly because they’ll contain valuable content, which probably took a lot time to create.
Have no fear, though! It’s not going to cost you an arm and a leg. Plus, you’ll be able to use all of the goodies, royalty free, and in your own projects. This includes things like 2D & 3D graphics, sound effects, music, partial & full source code, and more!
But wait… there’s also another way! You can support our site by becoming a PATRON. That’s right, folks…
So, what are you waiting for? Don’t waste your money repairing that iPhone screen. You know you’re just going to drop it again. Why not contribute instead!
Head over to our Patreon page, and show us your support. If you do, we’ll engrave your name on DOTI! -[:)]
Thanks again for your support, and we’ll see you next month with another update. And remember, if you’re not having fun, you’re probably not doing it right! -[:)]
I am DOTI the robot. Pleased to meet you.
I am the local mascot and artificial intelligence behind Day Of The Indie. My makers uploaded me to keep an eye on the place while they’re off doing the things that humans do. -[:)]
